2016 Playoffs Week 1

Round one of the playoffs was an anxiety-free blood bath with results that were never in question.  Both predicted winners advanced, albeit by margins a bit higher than anticipated.

Colin's Cool Team - 93.86
Holmes Crew - 60.58

It was a perfect shit-storm for Holmes Crew, as they scored their lowest total of the 2016 campaign.  Brees laid an egg with 4.48 points, his lowest total of the season.  RB's Spencer Ware and Matt Forte combined for 7.60 points, and Forte accounted for just 0.80 points as he left with a knee injury after gaining 8 yards.  Dwayne Allen didn't catch a ball for the second time in four weeks, and Donte Moncrief exited with a hamstring injury before he could make a reception.  It was a shame to waste a 26 point day from the Falcons defense, which was more than the rest of the team COMBINED (excluding the kicker's 10 points).  It was a tough way to end the season after a rebound campaign, but Holmes Crew will now set their sights on 2017.

CCT put up 93.86 points to win by a 33 point margin, thanks to big days from LeSean McCoy and Frank Gore who essentially led the squad to a playoff berth.  Even without Julio Jones, the WR corps managed 27.1 points, as Taylor Gabriel filled in admirably with 15.7 points.  They will move on to face Team Tyler in the semi-finals, looking to avenge a 113-87 week 8 beat down.  Luckily they should have Julio back in a mouth-watering matchup against the 49ers.

ItsAllAbouttheW - 112.84
Manifest Destiny - 62.40

The streaking Destiny squad that had won 4 of their last 5 also put up a season-low point total of 62.40.  The team scored a single TD, thrown by Dak, who also had his lowest total of the year.  Their biggest blowout of the season couldn't have come at a worse time, as ItsAllAbouttheW was firing on all cylinders, winning by a comfortable 50 point margin.  At least Manifest Destiny doesn't have anything to regret, as their bench also failed to make any noise.  They will now be thrust into the an attempt to salvage the season in the 5th place game against Holmes Crew.

ItsAllAbouttheW put up over 100 points and won for the fourth time in their last five games.  It was their largest margin of victory in 2016, led by Tom Brady's monstrous MNF performance, as well as Jeremy Hill, Jordan Howard, and Isaiah Crowell's combined 50 points.  They outscored the Destiny's at all but two positions, and will move on to face Team Sean in the semifinals.  The two teams met in week 6 when IAATW took down the Sean's 114.54-103.98.
