Weeks like this, we are reminded of the importance of roster depth. Atlanta, Denver, KC, Miami, Philly, and San Diego were all stagnant this week, leaving owners of Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Roddy White, Jamaal Charles, Peyton Manning, Willis McGahee, Mike Vick, Jeremy Maclin, LeSean McCoy, and Antonio Gates (to name a few) struggling with waiver wire replacements. Meanwhile, the rest of the league appeared defensively-inept, as 59 different offensive players managed 10+ point games. Leading the way was the resurgence of CJ2K, who breached 30 points for the first time in 3 years. Vincent Jackson played his tail off in a loss to the Saints, putting up 216 receiving yards and a TD. QB-play was the low point of the week, as only Drew Brees (no surprise) and Josh Freeman (big surprise) finished in the top 10 fantasy point scorers.
Bye week effects were felt most heavily by the KPAFFL's top teams. Team chopkins fell for the first time in 2012, unable to overcome the absence of his precious Falcons players. Without RGIII for the first time, Brett's Nasty Bunch also fell victim to the BWB. The battle for the basement was anything but close, as Team TP put up a season high 104.44 points, of course coming in a week where it wasn't needed. Surprisingly, only 3 games separate the cellar from the fourth and final playoff spot, and the league is still theoretically anyone's for the taking. Week 7 results are posted below.
