18.75% Through the Season

Image
Unsurprisingly, the 2015 fantasy season has been parody riddled through the first 3 weeks. Kevin has led the charge to perfection with a few virtually uncontested victories to sit at 3-0 with a league leading 378.18 points thanks to the play of his 9th round steal of the GOAT.  His well-balanced squad features the 2nd highest scoring defense in Arizona who put up 28 points in week 3. Steve Smith and Brandon Marshall have been two of the best WR out of the gate, ranking 5th and 10th in points at their positions respectively.  Despite the struggles of his RB corps, kevin's team should only improve in the coming weeks once Eddie Lacy inevitably finds his groove.           Almost equally impressive is the play of Colin's Cool Team, as they sit at 3-0 with 372 points. Larry Fitzgerald has proven himself as an ageless wonder, scoring an NFL leading 5 TD's thanks to the return of Carson Palmer.  With upcoming match...

2015 Predictions and Outlook

Image
The 2015 KPAFFL Draft has come to an end after 3 grueling hours of back and forth action. There will be no Mr. Irrelevant this year, as Team Sean scooped up the Dolphins defense as the final pick.  Draft strategies and position selections were consistently inconsistent, but the majority of owners seemed content with their teams whether warranted or not.  Thus we arrive to the predictions/analysis for the upcoming season and their semi-objective justifications.  Round-by-round results are displayed at the end of the post. Best RB Group - pfunk Runner Up - Its all about the W           Pfunk takes home the hardware for his selection of Jamaal Charles, Jeremy Hill, Frank Gore, and Ryan Mathews.  Charles finished 1st in 2013 and 7th in 2014 for RB fantasy scoring, and that was with an otherwise talent-less offense.  His total yardage has declined the past two seasons, but he rushed for 5 yards per c...

Bridging the Gap into 2015

Image
It has been almost two years, but the KPAFFL blog is back in business.  The stats and records can summarize the past two seasons, but here is a quick summary of 2013 and 2014: After a tight race for the four playoff spots in 2013, BluhmGoesTheDynamite claimed the top seed with a 10-4 record, winning the tiebreaker over Manifest Destiny by an enormous 209 point difference.  pfunk and Team Tyler claimed the three and four seeds respectively, and both crushed their opponents in the first round by over 40 points.  In the championship, pfunk took down Team Tyler by a hefty 25 point margin, nullifying any potential down-to-the-wire excitement.  pfunk's squad was led by Jamaal Charles' NFL-leading 308 fantasy points, as well as Peyton Manning's comeback campaign featuring 55 TD passes and 5477 yards through the air.  The championship was pfunk's third in KPAFFL history, taking sole possession of the achievement. Interesting season notes: Manifest Destiny claim...

2013 KPAFFL Player Predictions

Image
Although Week 1 of the NFL season is just about in the books, I will still list the KPAFFL predictions and superlatives of this year's draft. Before making predictions with limited bias after a weeks worth of games, lets look back at 2012 predictions and how they panned out. Biggest Reach - Fred Jackson taken by Manifest Destiny (Graham) in Round 2, Pick 17 Overall A slam dunk, as Jackson finished 40th overall amongst running backs with 81.4 fantasy points.  Much of Jackson's lack of success can be attributed to C.J. Spiller's role as the feature back, as well as the Bills being forced to throw as they often found themselves behind in games.  However, the worst part about the pick was not that Jackson failed to produce, but that he was taken BEFORE Adrian Peterson, who was taken with the 19th pick.  I could go into the long list of names available when Jackson was picked, but AP and his league-leading 307 fantasy points says all you need to know. Biggest Steal ...

Season 10 Closing Tidbits

Image
The 2012 KPAFFL Season has come to an end, but the records and statistics will live on forever.  I leave you with some interesting tidbits to take note of heading into the future.  Below are the champion rosters from each of the 10 KPAFFL seasons, as well as the current participant's all-time records.  Pertaining specifically to 2012, I have also included a list of the top single game performances, as well as the worst QB performances.  Thanks and have a wonderful end of 2012.

2012 KPAFFL Champion - PFUNK

Image
Tom Brady finished 4th in Fantasy Points among all QB's in 2012. Congratulations to the 2012 KPAFFL Champion, Team Pfunk.  After opening the season with two straight losses and going 4-4 through eight weeks, Pfunk rattled off eight straight wins en route to their second KPAFFL title.  Pfunk also took first in 2007.  Led by strong performances by QB Tom Brady all season, Pfunk put up 99.34 points in the championship match-up against Brett's Nasty Bunch, who managed just 76.76 points, the team's lowest total since week 10. Much like many regular season games, Pfunk was bolstered by a strong performance by WR Brandon Marshall, who certainly would be named the team's Most Valuable Player of 2012.  Marshall finished 2012 with 212.60 fantasy points, just .60 less then top WR Calvin Johnson, and good for twelfth best among all offensive players.  Pfunk also benefited from a solid defensive-foresight, rotating four different starting D's into the lineup ...
