Season 10 Closing Tidbits

Image
The 2012 KPAFFL Season has come to an end, but the records and statistics will live on forever.  I leave you with some interesting tidbits to take note of heading into the future.  Below are the champion rosters from each of the 10 KPAFFL seasons, as well as the current participant's all-time records.  Pertaining specifically to 2012, I have also included a list of the top single game performances, as well as the worst QB performances.  Thanks and have a wonderful end of 2012.

2012 KPAFFL Champion - PFUNK

Tom Brady finished 4th in Fantasy Points among all QB's in 2012. Congratulations to the 2012 KPAFFL Champion, Team Pfunk.  After opening the season with two straight losses and going 4-4 through eight weeks, Pfunk rattled off eight straight wins en route to their second KPAFFL title.  Pfunk also took first in 2007.  Led by strong performances by QB Tom Brady all season, Pfunk put up 99.34 points in the championship match-up against Brett's Nasty Bunch, who managed just 76.76 points, the team's lowest total since week 10. Much like many regular season games, Pfunk was bolstered by a strong performance by WR Brandon Marshall, who certainly would be named the team's Most Valuable Player of 2012.  Marshall finished 2012 with 212.60 fantasy points, just .60 less then top WR Calvin Johnson, and good for twelfth best among all offensive players.  Pfunk also benefited from a solid defensive-foresight, rotating four different starting D's into the lineup ...

PLAYOFFS?!

Packers WR Randall Cobb has 892 yards receiving and 7 TD's this season. Week 1 of the playoffs has concluded, and the final two championship contenders are no surprise.  Brett's Nasty Bunch stayed in the hunt wire-to-wire, and despite two straight season opening losses, team pfunk never strayed from playoff contention.  The two heavyweights will square off on Sunday, and with no players in the Sunday night game, the title should be decided by 7pm EST. Both teams looked competitive immediately post draft, but lets look back at the surprises that led to the 1 vs 2 championship matchup: Brett's Nasty Bunch Robert Griffin III - There was no doubt the kid had talent, but solidifying himself as a top 5 QB in his rookie season was certainly one of the biggest surprises of the 2012 season.  With 228.84 fantasy points, Griffin is tops among all QB's in the league, thanks to his dual-threat ability.  Rushing for 748 yards through 14 games, one of which he sat out, G...

Weeks 11 & 12: Beginning of the End

Image
RGIII continues to dominate, throwing for 511 yards and 8 TD's in wins over Philly and Dallas. With two weeks remaining in the fantasy regular season, only kevin and Team Tyler have been officially eliminated from playoff contention.  However, its all about the w and Wasted Talent are as good as done at 5-7, and nearly 100 points behind 4th and 5th place for the tiebreaker.  It remains to be seen if chopkins will continue to fall and miss the playoffs after a 6-0 start, but he rebounded with a win this past week after 5 consecutive losses dropped his team to 4th place.  Week 11 and week 12 recaps are below.

Week 11.1 Updates

Image
The Rams and 49ers tied 24-24 in Week 10, thanks to missed FG's by both sides.  It is the first tie since 2008. At this busy time of year, I am forced to forgo any type of analysis or fun little tidbits and just post the last 2 weeks results.  I'm sure no one will miss it.  Good day :)

Week 8 Results

Bucs RB Doug Martin led the NFL with 33.40 FP in Week 8 Not too many surprises in Week 8, except for last place team Kevin taking down Chopkins.  Tampa RB Doug Martin had his NFL breakout game against the Vikings, putting up 214 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns.  Matt Stafford and Tom Brady led all QB's with nearly flawless performances, and Titus Young led all WR's with 100 yards receiving and 2 TD's in a comeback win against the Seahawks.  Results are listed below, along with the top 10 from the week's statistical leaders.
