Titans RB Chris Johnson erupted for 195 yards and 2 TD's on the ground against Buffalo. Weeks like this, we are reminded of the importance of roster depth.  Atlanta, Denver, KC, Miami, Philly, and San Diego were all stagnant this week, leaving owners of Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Roddy White, Jamaal Charles, Peyton Manning, Willis McGahee, Mike Vick, Jeremy Maclin, LeSean McCoy, and Antonio Gates (to name a few) struggling with waiver wire replacements.  Meanwhile, the rest of the league appeared defensively-inept, as 59 different offensive players managed 10+ point games.  Leading the way was the resurgence of CJ2K, who breached 30 points for the first time in 3 years.  Vincent Jackson played his tail off in a loss to the Saints, putting up 216 receiving yards and a TD.  QB-play was the low point of the week, as only Drew Brees (no surprise) and Josh Freeman (big surprise) finished in the top 10 fantasy point scorers. Broncos' WR Brandon Stokely snags the go-ahead TD Outside of the fantasy world, it was a tight week in more than half of the games in the NFL.  Eight games were decided by three points or less, including two OT's.  The Broncos also came back from down 24-0 at halftime to destroy San Diego, thanks to another piss-poor performance by Philip Rivers.  The Patriots' secondary made Russell Wilson look like a hero with another disgusting collapse, and thanks to Shonn Greene's league leading 34.10 fantasy points (161 rushing yards and 3 TD's), the Pats and Jets are part of a 4-way tie in the AFC East standings, all at 3-3.  The top-10 performances from week 6 are listed below, as well as the week 6 fantasy results of the KPAFFL.  Unlike the NFL, the KPAFFL standings have seen little change since week 1.

Patriots RB Stevan Ridley ran for 151 yards and a TD against the Broncos The Week 5 matchups almost all played out with the favorite squads lambasting the cellar-dwellers.  With four teams sitting at 1-4, the battle for the coveted playoff spots is as competitive as the battle for the basement.  Boulter, Bluhm, Kevin, and Tyler all fell to their opponents, and share a 4-way tie for last.  Hopkins remains undefeated, and his 550 points through five weeks could certainly be mentioned as one of the most surprisingly successful squads of all-time.  His success can be attributed to Chicago's ageless defense, as they rolled up 28 fantasy points against a hapless Jaguars offense, and the Lance Briggs-led unit again scored 2 defensive touchdowns.  Victor Cruz also had a notable performance, leading the WR-depleted Giants by catching three touchdowns against the Browns. Bears RB Matt Forte slices up the porous Cowboy Defense Week 4 had a lot of close matchups, and with 7 different teams starting players on Dallas or Chicago, many of the contests came down to MNF.  Unsurprisingly, the Cowboys played like crap again, and Tony Romo's 5 interceptions helped the Bears to a 34-18 victory.  The Bears staunch defense propelled team Hopkins with 24 points, only further solidifying his first place position.  Other notable key performances that helped their teams to victory were Tom Brady (25.2 points) for Pat, Roddy White (28.9 points) for Holmes, and another superb performance for rookies RGIII (16.76 points) and Trent Richardson (16.4 points) for Brett.  With just 10 weeks remaining in the fantasy season, week 5 is certainly a make or break point for cellar-dwellers kevin, Team TP, Bluhm, and Boulter.  Results from week 4 are posted below.

Week 3 will forever be remembered as the week of the ref, as dozens of blown and faux-calls led to upsets, astronomical scores, and immense frustration across the NFL.  The Packers, Patriots, Lions, and a few other teams fell to their opponents thanks to some of the most ridiculous calls I have ever seen.  I won't harp on the refs as there will be enough of that in the media until the ref lockout ends, but notice an interesting trend in defensive fantasy scoring.  The top nine defensive and special team performances have come by home teams through the first three weeks, further proof that the replacement officials are easily intimidated by home crowds.  It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.... Dwayne Bowe's two fourth-quarter TD's in Week 2 helped Sean capture a share of 1st place. The results can obviously be seen within the league page, but below are quick-reference comparisons of how each team fared in the first two weeks of the season.  Thus far, Hopkins' team has far overachieved, but he stands in first with Sean at 2-0.  Sean won in week 2 despite having Mike Vick on the bench.  However, coming off a crappy week 1 performance and facing Baltimore, no one can blame him for opting to start Matt Schaub instead.  Graham and Pat occupy the cellar, and with key injuries (Fred Jackson, see my biggest reach prediction), Graham's team will surely continue to spiral downward.  Stay tuned.

Yahoo has their own "predictions" for what the final standings will look like, which can be seen in the below image.  However, everyone knows the excitement of the NFL can be attributed to its unmatched parody.  Injuries, breakouts, and a variety of contributing factors  skew the initial outlook into a newly shaped league year to year. Anyone can analyze a draft in terms of steals, reaches, successes and lack-thereof.  So prior to the season start, here are my initial superlatives for the 2012 Draft.  These will be reassessed after Week 17 of the season, and although I have the utmost confidence in the predictions, history shows you just never know....
